The Montana Trail 406 is a multi-discipline route that showcases the best of our diverse state, from the Crown of the Continent to the breathtaking grasslands of our prairie landscape. The Montana Trail 406 offers an opportunity to discover Montana beyond the borders of Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.

The vision and the goal

With the MT406 initiative, our goal is to promote great outdoor recreation opportunities in the Big Sky. The MT406 can empower people by providing a challenging trail experience to test their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Imagining The Montana Trail

Our mission is a simple one. Plot a path less taken across the Big Sky highlighting the vast diversity of the people, land and terrain. We strive to NOT create new trail but link the best of trails that already exist to create an incredible experience for a multitude of adventurers.

The Montana Trail Team

Since our founding in 2017, the Montana Trail 406 Association has developed and grown in a positive direction. We’re very proud of our staff, and their abilities to contribute their own unique experience and skills to our success. Find out more about some of our team members below.

    Laurie joined the MT406 Team with the goal of ensuring the small Montana towns that support the Trail are represented and benefit from the initiative going forward. She brings extensive small business and Chamber of Commerce experience to the MT406 Team.
