Description: Starting at the Idaho border, the route quickly descends through the Purcell Mountains into the Yaak Valley, passing through the small town of Yaak before starting a long-mixed surface climb. The next descent brings you to Lake Koocanusa and on to Eureka, a full-service resupply town. After leaving Eureka there is another mixed surface climb up to the Whitefish Divide. Following the Divide, riders head east towards Glacier National Park. Be sure to stop at Polebridge for a huckleberry bearclaw before riding through the park to West Glacier. From here, there is a paved bike path that takes you most of the way to Columbia Falls.

The town of Whitefish, 10 miles off-route, has several full-service bike shops.
