Endpoints: Columbia Falls, MT – Lincoln, MT (west to east)

Length: 196 miles. Unpaved 81%, paved 19%.

Elevation Gain: 14,077 feet

Description: Note: This entire section follows the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR)
Leaving Columbia Falls the route zig zags its way south through the Flathead Valley before climbing up into the Swan Range. There are multiple long gravel climbs and descents including Richmond Pass, with its short section of single track. The route passes through Ovando, which has a café, store and in town camping. Kathy, at the Blackfoot Angler fly shop has a small but good selection of bike-related gear if needed. The final climb of the section takes riders over Huckleberry Pass before descending into Lincoln. Lincoln is a CDT trail resupply town which has camping and showers in the city park.

The town of Whitefish, 10 miles off-route, has several full-service bike shops.
