Endpoints: Wise River, MT – Lima, MT

Length: 170 miles. Unpaved 89%, paved 11%.

Elevation Gain: 13,214 feet

Description: After leaving Wise River, the route traverses a section of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest mainly of forest service roads before reaching Badger Pass. From the pass it’s a short but sweet paved descent before the route turns south of Bannack Bench Rd where you meet the GDMBR again. Beware, Bannock Road is notorious for its peanut butter mud after a recent rain. After another short section of pavement, the route turns south following Medicine Lodge Creek, a beautiful section with the Centennial mountains on one side and the Tendoy mountains on the other. This section ends in Lima where you will find a small but well provisioned store, a motel and a bar/restaurant.
