Endpoints: Winifred, MT – Fort Peck, MT

Length: 204.2 miles. Unpaved 95%, paved 5%.

Elevation Gain: 10,322 feet

Description: This very remote section with no services leaves Winifred on the Missouri Breaks Backcountry Byway, heading east into a section of the Upper Missouri Breaks National Monument then the Charlie M Russell National Wildlife Refuge and the American Prairie Reserve. Note that at times the route is merely a faint two track. Also, be aware that large portions of this section will be completely unrideable after heavy rains. This section ends in Fort Peck, which has limited resupply options. The town of Glasgow, with its full services, is 17 miles north via a paved road.
