Length: 54 miles

Description:  Homestake Pass to MT406 Junction. This section began at Homestake Pass and cross over to Pipestone Pass and then climbs steadily in to the Butte Highlands descending to cross Interstate 15 again south of Butte. The trail climbs above Divide and heads east until it reaching the cutoff to Wise River. This section follows the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) the entire distance.
